During the last while of doing two forums and speaking on a panel for the WGSA here in Cape Town I have had the pleasure to meet Martez and Andrew from SAMDB. They are two pro-active individuals that want to get as much info about South African film captured and sorted to create a awesome database for us all to use! Right now they are still in early stages and on the home page there’s a note about upgrading the back-end of their site.

All I know is that they are at every event networking hardcore. I hope that you’ll visit them and drop them a line to tell them what you are up to!

Here’s a brief summary:

SAMDB, The South African Movie Database, is a website with built- in intelligent search engine, related specifically to the model/film industry in South Africa. We have created a platform to showcase all of South Africa’s talent and make them more accessible locally and internationally. At the same time, our platform assists in the marketing of industry professionals, all agencies, production companies and crew agencies to anyone interested in producing in South Africa.

We are neither a social networking site, nor an agency of any sort.
The site is constantly evolving, and new features appear regularly.

SAMDB regularly posts news items on our members, and their achievements. Another way to promote their talent.

SAMDB evolved from the combination of several ideas, and is hosted by parent company, Showreel Africa, drawing on our combined modelling, acting, IT and business talents.
